About the Event
What’s the most historic thing in Inwood? For many folks, the DYCKMAN FARMHOUSE would be at the top of the list. It’s not only a national landmark, it’s one of the oldest buildings in Manhattan. You see the name Dyckman all around the neighborhood - on streets, schools, shops, subway stations, ballfields, basketball tournaments. It’s everywhere. But what is its story? When was it built, who lived there, and why is it still around?
On Tuesday Feb 1st 7:30PM at Inwood Farm, LOST INWOOD co-founder Don Rice will present the Amazing Story of the Dyckman Farmhouse, a newly researched tour-de-force that pulls together everything we know about this fascinating and historic structure. Using rare primary documents and rarely seen old images and maps we’ll trace the history of Inwood’s oldest home, and even make a few guesses about its future.
Please join us on February 1st at 7:30PM.
