About the Event

This month at LOST INWOOD we’ll revisit our most requested program; Richard Roberts' fabulous Hudson River/Tubby Hook home movies from the 1930s. They've been a perennial favorite at history night since their first showing in 2009.

If you don't know the story, Roberts grew up in one of the boathouses at the foot of Dyckman Street along the Hudson River.  These digitized 16mm reels, combined with Roberts' inimitable and hilarious narration, bring to life the vibrant boating and riverfront scene that Tubby Hook was in the 1930s.

And since we’re talking riverfront, we'll also re-discover the forgotten story of the Dyckman Street Ferry.
